In 2005, the Château turned its attention to other
countries and the United States in particular. The American press had hardly
mentioned the wines of Pibarnon which did not fulfil the standards of the woody
wines that were so fashionable at the time.
Mourvèdre, the grape variety which rules in Bandol and at Pibarnon,
is also unknown in America.
However, like all artists who have talent and finally make
the grade, in 2005 Pibarnon red was given 95/100 points by the Wine Spectator.
That outstanding mark, handed down by one of the world's
best tasters, made Château de Pibarnon a talking point. It was mentioned
