Grape variety

- 45% CLAIRETTE (finesse and elegance). - 30% BOURBOULENC (freshness and liveliness) - 25 % LOCAL GRAPE VARIETIES (Roussane & Viognier, for the complexity of the bouquet...)

Terroir

Located on north slopes (colder), the white grapes are planted on a very interesting soil: BLUE MARL from the SANTONIAN geological period, same as Petrus or Chateau-Chalon. Altitude 900 ft.

Winemaking

Traditional method. Fermented at low temperature, slowly during 25 days. No wood, aging 6 month in tank.

Tasting

Really elegant, the white 2007 travels between strength and length...The 2007 offers a real display of aromas with fruit, white flours, lemon-flavoured, spice and fennel. On tasting, the wine is ample and smooth. It develops gently a surprising flesh which reminds its northern side's origin.

Vintage

Great vintage in the south of France. Lots of rain during the winter, and a warm spring. Wonderful harvest, with no excess of heat or maturity. Very good conditions to preserve freshness and flesh. The terroir of Chateau de Pibarnon allows keeping the winter water and gives it back slowly to the vines during such a very hot summer. Thanks to the average altitude of the terraces (900 ft), the nights were cold. Perfect conditions for freshness and elegance.

Harvest

Hand picked grapes, with a small team of pickers. A grapes selection is made in the vineyard.

Yield

Less than 30 Hl/ha.
